The new CCCB resource “A Church Seeking Justice”
Your Eminences, Your Excellencies,
Later today, at the recommendation of the Executive with the approval of the Permanent Council, the Commission for Justice and Peace is releasing a new resource entitled A Church Seeking Justice: The Challenge of Pope Francis to the Church in Canada. The resource was prepared as a response to a priority the Commission received from the 2013 Plenary Assembly to reflect on Pope Francis’ understanding of the “peripheries,” with an application to our Canadian society. Dealing broadly with the themes of Human Dignity and Labour, War and Peace, and the Economics of Exclusion and Isolation, this document outlines the freshness and urgency with which Pope Francis is calling everyone to act for justice and offers reflection questions tailored to our Canadian context. This resource is ideal for use in parishes, high schools, or for personal study.
Sincerely yours in Christ Our Lord,
(Rev.) Msgr. Patrick Powers, P.H.
