Fr. Dan – Letter to Parishioners

Dear Parishioners;

It is a time to rejoice as we return to small gatherings for mass and to work.  Following our Covid-19 regulations everything has gone well.  Till we are safe we will not be able to sing as a congregation.  Our choir is working on ways to have music at our Saturday and Sunday Masses.  Probably mostly taped music we can listen to and sing-along with, in our hearts and minds.   We are allowed two stringed instruments so our musicians may play beautiful, inspiring music to help us reflect and pray at mass.  I need two to three volunteers to help at our Saturday, Sunday masses who are comfortable greeting, escorting, and helping me sanitize our pews, doorknobs, etc.

I am doing a survey of those who usually attend 7:00 pm Saturday.  If you would like for me to continue the 7:00 pm mass, please, email or phone the parish to say so.  If I do not hear from you, I will discontinue that mass for the time being.  I have decided since we are allowed small numbers to have mass on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:30 pm as per our regular schedule.  I have decided to celebrate a mass Thursday and Friday at 12:15 pm. This will become our regular weekday schedule.  Mass on Saturday will be at 5:00 pm.  I will only begin a 7:00 pm Saturday depending on your feedback. Sunday mass times will be at 9:00 am and 11:00 am. If you would like to go to confession, please phone me at 403-808-7101 to make an appointment.

For baptisms, weddings, and funerals we are still only able to have 15 in attendance.  If you are having a funeral service at the Funeral Home, they decide on the number.

If your child has been prepared and is ready for their 1st Confession please phone the parish office, 403-762-3450.  If they have not been prepared but you would like to receive 1st Confession, please phone the parish to register.

If your child has prepared and is ready to receive 1st Holy Communion, please phone me at 403-808-7101.  If they are not prepared, please phone parish office to register.

It has come to my attention that the money we get from the sale of votive candles is not covering the cost.  We can only rely on St. Anthony of Padua for so much. Please try to pay the fee that is posted.  This would be most appreciated.

Let us continue to move forward in faith and trust, as the relaunch of our lives return to the new norm.

In my love and prayers;

Fr. Dan
